Before your visit
The Education team offers a range of programmes. Find out more and book via our Online Booking Portal.
The maximum number we can accommodate for an education session is 35, including students and a minimum of at least 2 adults. Larger groups need be split across multiple sessions, with entry times staggered by 30 minutes, or across multiple days. Please contact education.team@parliament.govt.nz to book multiple groups.
Pre-visit pack
The Pre-visit pack is a set of resources to support planning and learning ahead of a visit to Parliament. It includes:
- Pre-visit learning resources (vocabulary, rooms at Parliament, question time, and writing links)
- Social story: Education Visit
- Different Roles in Parliament poster
- Outdoor Scavenger Hunt
- Parliament Education Visit Risk Assessment and Management System (RAMS) form
On the day of your visit
A member of Parliament’s Education Team should be ready to greet you on arrival. If not, please inform security you are visiting Parliament as part of an educational visit, and they will contact the Education Team.
In preparation for security screening at Parliament, please remove everything from pockets (including keys, coins, mobiles etc.) and place these in bags. Items considered dangerous/inappropriate (e.g scissors) may be held by Security for the duration of your visit.
All belongings, including bags, mobile phones/cameras, hats, sunglasses, will be stored in a secure room for the duration of the visit. Items needed for medical reasons can be kept in pockets (e.g. inhalers).
